Easy Steps to Reading (ESR)

Designed for use by teachers and parents, ESR is a soft-cover manual that explains the technique of reading “inside out,” a simplified method that cuts the word attack process in half.  ESR includes extensive lists of words with short and long vowels and various diphthongs, suitable for students of all ages who are learning to read.  It progresses from one-syllable words to multi-syllabic words, and the manual includes suggestions on ways to improve spelling, comprehension and writing.  A separate packet of word lists is included with the book.

Easy Steps to Reading Lesson Plans

Designed for use by teachers and parents, this manual is a day-by-day set of instructions for teaching early reading and math skills to children ages 3-7 years.  Reading sections include methods and games for teaching consonants, vowels, blends, diphthongs, etc.  Instruction progresses from the sounding of nonsense syllables and one-syllable words to multi-syllabic words, and lessons include lists of approximately 20-30 words.  Math lessons include suggestions and game ideas for teaching counting, addition and subtraction with numbers between 0 and 100, along with time-telling and counting money.
